Introduction

Starting a charging session with STROOHM is quick and easy. Whether you prefer using the app, scanning a QR code, or tapping your charge key, you have multiple convenient options to begin charging your electric vehicle.

How to start a charge session

You can start a charging session in three ways:

1. Via charge card
2. Via the STROOHM app
3. Via a STROOHM sticker (QR code / NFC)*

*Available only if the charge point has this option.

Option 1: via RFID/ Charge key

If you've added a charge key to your wallet, you can start a charge session with it. Just plug in your car, tap the charge key on the charge point, and charging will begin!

Note: The wallet linked to your charge key will be used to pay for the charge session. To use your company wallet, use the charge key linked to that wallet. To use your personal wallet, use the charge key linked to your personal wallet.

Note: If your personal wallet has a negative balance, you cannot start a charge session with your personal charge key.

Background information

We've updated how payments work when using RFID charge keys to increase cybersecurity. Now, before starting a charge:

• The system goes through a pre-authorization process and checks if you have enough balance in your STROOHM wallet.
• If not, it will automatically add funds from the card linked to your account to ensure your payment goes through smoothly.

If there's an issue:

• You'll receive a push notification and email explaining what went wrong.
• We'll automatically remove the card from your account.
